When thinking about a leader, I honestly took a few minutes to choose because I never really look up to famous leaders in real life. I usually get inspired by the main characters in movies. Anne from Green Gables, Simba from Lion King, Rick from The Walking Dead, Aang from the Avatar and many more. But for this time, I’m gonna choose Anne from Green Gables.

I knew about Anne from a Netflix adaptation of the original Anne from Green Gables, which is called Anne With An E. At first I didn’t expect much about this series, because I didn’t know what it was about, but a few clips had appeared on my social media and it got me quite interested. So one day, I decided to watch Anne With An E on Netflix. To be honest, I almost stopped watching it in the first few minutes because it got me bored already, but I continued anyway. After that, the boredom slowly faded away, I could catch up with the storylines. Anne With An E has quite simple storylines that can be watched by teenagers. It was a simple storyline but filled with so much heartwarming scenes. It was the perfect series for me as I was quite stressed out with college at the moment. So I kept watching because I got curious.

Anne was depicted as this orphaned girl who was sent to a household after living her entire life in the orphanage. She was sent to live with Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert’ house, brother-sister who wanted a boy to help them with the farming as they were growing old. But the agency was mistaken to have sent Anne, who obviously was a girl, to them. Knowing they were sent a girl, Marilla didn’t accept Anne to live with them. So Anne become so heartbroken because she thought she finally found a home to live in, as she was actually bullied by her friends in the orphanage. Marilla then decided to bring Anne back to the original household who had asked for her. On the way there, they had basic conversations. When they had arrived at the household, Marilla felt bad and disgusted by the household where Anne was supposed to be. So she decided to keep Anne with her. This is where the long story and adventure of Anne Shirley begins.

The show has always shown how brilliant and cheerful Anne is. Anne has a broad knowledge as she likes to read and she is always so vivid with her imagination as part of her amusement. Although her life was not so easy before she was sent to Green Gables, she still managed to be the brightest and cheerful girl for her surrounding. What I like about her is, the way she always thinks about the positive side of things even though many times she had been heartbroken before. She is so passionate about the things she believes in and that makes her keep going. She is also a loyal person to her loved ones. She always has many words to talk about. She is a good person that I just admire for her own personality. The way this series has told her stories made me inspired by her adventurous, kind, brilliant, and happy spirit. And one thing that shocked was she is an INFP, like me. I don’t know if this is true, but one day I was taking a MBTI test online and it revealed that I was an INFP and the test also showed people or characters that have an INFP personality, and Anne is one of them.

So, for the people who are curious about Anne, I recommend you to watch Anne With An E on Netflix. Or if you just need a new series to add to your list, go ahead and watch this series, you won’t regret it because it is so heartwarming. And yeah, that’s all I can write about a person/leader/main character that inspired me.
